To achieve the effect pictured in image 5:
-Paint each piece using a dark base color, like dark gray or dark brown. Let dry.
-Paint each piece a bright color.
-Immediately begin rubbing the paint from the facet edges all over each piece. Use a wet cloth over your fingertip, or use a wet swab to follow the line of each facet.
